QUALIFICATION

How To Qualify

Over 300 sailors, representing more than 60 nations, compete across the eight sailing events at each annual ISAF Youth Worlds. Member Nations of ISAF can enter one team in each of the Youth Worlds events. This one entry per nation, per event system mirrors the entry process of the Olympic Sailing Competition and means that, for young sailors worldwide, just getting to the Championship is a major achievement.

To Represent Ireland

To be eligible to compete, competitors must be under the age of 19 years on 31st December of the year of the Championship.  The Irish team is selected by the Irish Sailing Association (ISA) following selection trials/a qualification process. The selection trials for the Irish team to compete in 2010 in Istanbul will be the ISA Youth Nationals 14-17 April 2010 at Schull and the Mitsubishi Youth Championships 1-3 May 2010 at Dublin Bay.  For information on Irish qualification contact ISA Youth Performance and Development Manager, Rory Fitzpatrick.
