Peter Crowley, PRO

President of Irish Sailing Association, former Admiral of Royal Cork Yacht Club. Peter has been a key figure in Irish race management and a major contributor to developing Irish sailing internationally. He is a regular race official in Cork and has officiated at many international championships in recent years and acted as PRO for ISAF Nations Cup held at Crosshaven in 2006. He is a previous windsurfer champion and represented Ireland at European level.

Alan Crosbie, IRO - Course RO

The most experienced Race Officer in Ireland. Alan is a member of the ISAF Race Management sub-committee, chairs the Irish Race Management Committee and is a member of the board of the Irish Sailing Association and the Irish Olympic Steering Group. He has vast experience of running international events in Ireland and overseas. In recent years he has officiated at the following Irish events: 2008 Cork Week, 2008 Topper Worlds, 2007 Dragon Worlds and 2007 & 2009 Volvo Dun Laoghaire Regatta. Although he lives on the south coast of Ireland he has experience of racing and officiating on Dublin Bay.

The most experienced of the International Race Officers based in Dun Laoghaire. A member of the NYC, he has acted as Race Officer for many World and European championships run on Dublin Bay in recent years e.g. – Flying Fifteen Worlds, Laser 4.7 Europeans, 2007 Etchell European Championships, Volvo Dun Laoghaire Regatta, Cork Week, and SB3 Worlds 2008.

Appointed IRO in 2007 David is an experienced sailor, former commodore of Howth Yacht Club (north of Dublin Bay) and regular race official. He is highly respected recently promoted RO who has officiated successfully at Volvo Dun Laoghaire Regatta, Cork Week, Etchell World Championship, and Mirror World Championships. David has experience of organising championship racing on Dublin Bay and as a member of the RSGYC is the senior race official in the club. It is intended to invite an overseas specialist with current fleet experience to assist with the windsurfer course.

Bill O’Hara - Jury Co-ordinator

An Olympic sailor who has been heavily involved in developing the Youth sailing strategy in Ireland and is a well known race official - chairman of the Jury for the 2008 Youth Worlds at Aarhus, a jury member at Qingdao and the PRO for the 2008/9 Volvo Ocean Race. Bill will be a key member of the event Organising Committee advising on all matters in relation to the jury, race management and general requirements of ISAF and the sailors.
