Attention Youth Sailors: This is the ‘Must Do’ Event in 2011
The ISA Mitsubishi Youth Nationals will take place over the May Bank Holiday Weekend between the 29th April and the 2nd May 2011.
As part of the build-up to Dublin Bay 2012, the ISA and Dun Laoghaire Waterfront Clubs have created a new and exciting youth championship, which has brought together the two major youth championships on the Irish calendar; the ISA Youth Nationals and The Mitsubishi Youth Championships to form this four day ISA Mitsubishi Youth National Championships. It is expected that three hundred sailors from around the country will compete for the six national youth titles, six junior pathway titles and the coveted Mitsubishi Coaching Grant. Racing for the Boys’ and Girls’ titles in the 420, Laser Radial, Laser 4.7, Topper, Feva and Optimist classes will be over three courses on Dublin Bay. The final leg of the Optimist Trials will also take place during this event. A number of top international sailors have been invited to compete and, with interest already mounting from overseas competitors, the Organisers hope to raise the level of competition in advance of 2012. Indeed, the Organisers are not just focused on testing the race area but plan to have a full range of activities and entertainment ashore to ensure that all the sailors as well as their families and friends enjoy this special annual event this Easter.
