Royal St George Yacht Club
Founded in 1838, the Royal St George Yacht Club has a long history and tradition in Irish sailing and is regarded as one of Ireland’s leading yacht clubs. The waterside location provides a magnificent setting for the members and visitors to enjoy the period décor, furniture, paintings and maritime artifacts which are the envy of similar clubs around the world. The premises has been continuously maintained and improved up to the present time resulting in the modern sailing facilities on the lower floor contrasting with the traditional more formal style upstairs. Club members have been to the forefront of sailing in Ireland – both in terms of competition and administration. They have competed successfully over the years at World and European level in the top international senior, youth and junior classes. RSGYC members played a major role in the birth and development of the ISA and more than half of the Presidents of that association have come from the club.
